What's happening at RoG?

There is always something happening at River of Grace,

which means there is always a way to get involved!

  • One Warm coat drive

RoG is partnering with One Warm Coat in collecting new or gently used and cleaned coats. All coats may be placed in the vestibule between November 14 and December 19. Or contribute directly to the RoG One Warm Coat fund.

  • Mountain Mission School

RoG is sponsoring students at the Mountain Mission School in Grundy, VA. MMS is a place of sanctuary, opportunity, hope, and love for children from all around the world. We are collecting items for a Christmas Eve party for the children who are unable to return home for the holidays, as well as collecting gift cards to be distributed to children on their birthdays. • owls lunch

OWLs (Older Wiser Lutherans) meets for lunch and fellowship on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1pm. Bring your lunch and a mask and join us November 17 for laughs and good company.

  • Four12 Friendsgiving Celebration

All middle school and high school youth are invited to join us for a Friendsgiving Celebration on Sunday, November 21, at 6pm. Bring your favorite food to share for our dinner, we'll play games, and enjoy our evening together.

  • Thanksgiving Bonfire

Join us for our annual Thanksgiving Bonfire on Tuesday, November 23, 7pm to 9pm. We will gather together in gratitude for our God, our faith, our blessings, and each other. We will find joy in prayer, s'mores, hot chocolate, and fellowship.

  • Hanging of the Greens

Join us for a special Worship Service on Sunday, November 28. On this first Sunday of Advent, our children will joyfully decorate our place of worship while we prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus and the glorious gift of God's love. All children are invited to participate in this annual tradition!

  • Christmas Walk

Join us Saturday, December 4, 6pm to 8pm, for a festive walk through Christmas trees and an enchanted lighted forest. Then join family and friends in relaxing around the bonfire with hot chocolate and cookies.

Volunteers are needed to decorate trees and prepare games for this event.

  • Children's Christmas Pageant

Join us for Worship on December 19 to hear the story of the First Christmas as told by the children of River of Grace. All children are invited to participate in the Christmas Pageant. We will be practicing during Sunday's Cool time in the weeks leading up to the Pageant.

  • offertory stewards needed

We are in need of volunteers to help count the weekly offering. We need two people to count each Sunday and to input the data into the computer. Ideally, the more volunteers we have, the easier it will be to take turns. Anyone interested in sharing a small amount of their time to help, please see Brian Eddie or Gretchen.

  • Acolytes

Children grades 1 thru 5 are invited to be acolytes! As an acolyte, they will light and extinguish the candles for worship, as well as a few other items as our in-person service continues to evolve. Pastor Connie will teach and train them in all they need to know. Sign up for dates that work for your family. We ask that your child arrive by 10:20 to prepare to acolyte.

  • Four12 Stock

Invest in our Youth! Four12@TheRiver is selling stock in order to raise funds for the 2022 ELCA Youth Gathering. Buy stock in the youth and witness the return on your investment at our Shareholders' Dinner in August 2022.  Learn more here.

  • Little Free Pantry

Our Little Free Pantry is stocked with canned and jarred goods, paper products, hygiene items, and more. If you have a need, stop by and help yourself. If you have items to share, add them to the pantry.
